Slate Quality
Slate is not exactly like slate!
Slate consists of naturally occurring mineral components. The production of slate for roof and façade requires only one processing (i.e. formatting), i.e. neither a binder (such as cement) nor a treatment in a kiln.
Slate is a natural stone building material that does not require special maintenance. Quality slate is considered one of the most durable roofing products of all and therefore it has a long life span. After its service life Slate can be reused or recycled in various applications. Slate split and slate powder can even be used as a soil improvement, for aggregates and other products of high quality.
Rathscheck Quality System
The Rathscheck Quality System exceeds by far the required national and European test standards and is based on many decades of experience in the production of slate for roof and façade. These resulted in a test system for assessing the worldwide slate qualities. Only the best slate deposits comply with our strict requirements.
With test methods developed by ourselves, by constantly checking our own production processes on site as well as the productions of our international strategic partner we take care of the observance of the Rathscheck quality criteria. At the same time we are supported by independent test institutions.
